Calpex® pipes are available which offer substantial savings
over more conventional rigid pipe systems requiring joints and
the application of insulation and protection jackets on site.
Calpex® can be installed more quickly than conventional systems
promising substantial reductions on overall installation costs.

Calpex® pipes use a cross-linked polyethylene
(PEX) material that has excellent physical properties which meets
the demands of long-life heating and cooling. PEX will not corrode
and is chemically very stable and free from environmentally damaging
substances
The carrier pipe used for Calpex® heating mains
is protected by an oxygen diffusion barrier made from the organic
material EVOH. This fully meets the standards laid down for reducing
the diffusion of oxygen through the pipe wall into the fluid. |

The factory applied thermal insulation consists of
non-polluting CFC and HCFC free flexible foam with excellent thermal
insulation properties (up to 25% better than other polyethylene
foam materials). |

Benefits and Savings |
 |
Continuous coils up to 520
metres in length |
 |
Long coil lengths mean no joints or leaks |
 |
Removes the need for connections below
ground, so only a narrow trench is required (up to 65% narrower
than a conventional rigid steel pipe excavation) |
 |
Superior insulation and casing for below
ground applications |
 |
Light in weight compared with conventional
systems |
 |
No connections required except for branch
tees or valves |
 |
Significant reduction in installation work
on site |
 |
Easily routed around obstacles such as
trees and other pipes in the ground |
 |
May be pulled to a very good radius to
facilitate entry in and out buildings |
 |
Special straight pipes (up to 12m in length)
in many configurations can be manufactured for use in floor
ducts and risers. |
 |
Offers significant material savings in
civil works and enables many installations to be completed
in a day. |

All our PEX pipes are resistant to an extensive
range of chemicals and suitable for a wide range of fluids.
